We have an exciting opportunity available in St Helens for an experienced Social Work Team Manager to join thier Permanence Team.
This role is located at the heart of England's North West - midway between the cosmopolitan cities of Liverpool and Manchester, and within a 90-minute drive of the Lake District. Responsibilities as a Social Work Team Manager:
* Managing a team and supervising social workers
* The permanency service
* Working with foster carers
* Some understanding of the leaving care service/transitions
* Care planning regulation
* Developing permanency plans which include SGO and adoption
* Corporate parenting responsibilities
* Life story work
* Safeguarding knowledge
* Excellent working relationships with families
* Day to day case management
* Looked after children reviews
* Allocating work to staff
* Conducting formal supervision of staff to support them professionally to undertake their caseload of work
* Appraising staff and ensuring training/ learning needs are identified
Essential requirements as a Social Work Team Manager:
* Social Work England Registration
* Eligible to work in the UK
* Qualified as a Social Worker with previous management experience
