Social Worker - Children with Disabilities - Conwy - £33 per hour

An experienced Social Worker is required to join Conwy Council, becoming part of their Children with Disabilities Team.

The successful Social Worker will be expected to deliver a high-quality social work service to children and young people who are deemed vulnerable or needing support due to.

You will be working with the citizen, carers, and families to provide support and to develop resilience and independence, ensuring that the citizen, families, and carers are at the centre of decision making about their lives and the outcomes that they want to achieve. As a Social Worker, you will be provided you with a comprehensive induction, training, help and advice to enable you to reach your full potential.

Duties as a Social Worker:

* Respond to safeguarding concerns in accordance with the Wales Interim Policy and Procedure for POVA and the All Wales Child Protection Procedures
* Carry out POVA investigations, Child protection investigations and complete risk assessments
* Contribute to the preparation and presentation of reports and plans at Strategy meetings and reviews both for children and adults
* Work in partnership with Community Wellbeing services, developing knowledge and awareness of what is available to ensure access to a range of early and preventative interventions which are community based
* Maintain professional accountability for the allocation of resources in accordance with service criteria, legislation, financial and other regulations of the council
* Ensure an early and effective response to concerns or complaints from citizens or other agencies
* Support citizens and their carers/families to actively participate in the development of the service
* Prepare appropriately for and contribute effectively to meetings
* Chair meetings where required, quality assuring the record/minutes of these meetings. This applies particularly to MDT meetings, Care and support plan review meetings as well as Child Protection Core Group Meetings
* Prepare written reports for a range of purposes, ensuring they are accurate, coherent, complete and up to date
* Attend team meetings and contribute to the development of the service
* Maintain a specific caseload of varied complexity

Essential requirements of this Social Worker role:

* Social Work Wales Registered
* Eligible to work in the UK
* A full UK license holder
