Social Worker - Opal Team - Children's Services - Swindon - £37,061 - £40,072 per annum
We are currently recruiting for a Social Worker to join an Opal Team based within Children's Services in Swindon. The Opal Team specialises in working with child exploitation along with their partners.
The successful candidate will love working with young people, want to work from a restorative and trauma informed basis, and interested and enthusiastic about making a difference in young lives.
The teams quality of service has significantly improved over the last 12 months but they are not complacent and their transformation journey will continue, to ensure children receive a consistently good service every day.
That means that they are continuing to heavily invest in their Children's Services Teams through a reduction in caseloads and fostering a culture of learning and challenge, to include the launch of their Social Care & Leadership academy, giving you opportunities and support to develop your career.

Responsibilities of this Social Worker role include:
* Providing support to teenagers and their families who are at risk of child exploitation
* Alongside the child, family and professional network you will be key in developing robust plans that address identified push/pull factors of exploitation to improve the outcomes for the child/young person through for example, improving self-esteem, identifying their aspirations and the disruption of those causing the harm
* Assessing the harm children face outside the family through the principles of contextual safeguarding
Essential requirements of this Social Worker role include:
* A degree or diploma in Social Work
* Registered with Social Work England registration
* Candidates must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act - for the effective performance of a customer-facing role)
* Eligible to work in the UK
