Your duties as a Band 7 Adult Speech and Language Therapist:

• To work with service users and other members of the MDT to achieve identified goals and to promote social inclusion, independence, and well-being.
• To formulate and implement treatment programmes for the management of service user’s communication needs and provide advice to service users with communication difficulties.
• To develop and implement individual and /or group interventions, in collaboration with service users and the MDT to achieve therapeutic goals.
• To engage the service user in therapeutic activities and encourage and support them to achieve their identified goals

Further requirements:

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will provide assessment and intervention as well as consultation and advice in relation to speech, language, and communication needs. You will work with the lead therapist to provide an effective and responsive service.

Essential requirements of Band 7 Adult Speech and Language Therapist role:

The post holder will have knowledge and experience of working with a range of communication disorders and will be able to apply this knowledge within a secure forensic setting working with service users with a variety of needs including mental health, learning disability and autistic spectrum condition. The post will involve liaison and joint working with other clinical, educational and criminal justice professionals within the prison and other external agencies when appropriate.
