Duty and Assessment Social Worker (12-Month Contract) Manchester

We are seeking an experienced Duty and Assessment Social Worker to join our team on a 12-month contract. As a Duty and Assessment Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding children and assessing their needs. You’ll engage with families, conduct assessments, and coordinate multi-agency plans. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact within a supportive environment.

Contract Type: Temporary (12 months)

Hours: 35 hours per week

Responsibilities:

  • Assess the needs of children and young people, identifying risks and protection requirements.
  • Coordinate and deliver multi-agency plans to meet assessed needs.
  • Conduct regular visits to understand the child’s circumstances and engage with them.
  • Chair Child in Need (CIN) meetings and strategy discussions.
  • Ensure timely interventions and reduce risk for children and families.
  • Maintain accurate records using relevant systems.
  • Collaborate with other professionals and agencies.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker (SW)
  • Registration with the appropriate regulatory body (e.g., Social Work England)
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to professional development
