Independent Chair – Bedfordshire area – Salary: £55,183 up to £58,619 + Benefits

The role:

The local authority based in the Bedfordshire area are looking for an Independent Chair to join the safeguarding service. The independent chair role is a combined position of independent reviewing officer and child protection coodinator.

Responsibilities:

– Establish and implement child protection and looked after children policy and practice in compliance with legislation
– Ensuring the child’s voice is heard by ensuring the children and families participate appropriately in the child protection and looked after children process.
– Promote collaboration between key agencies and professionals
– Ensure quality assurance systems are in place and reported within children’s social care

About you:

– Must have Social Work degree and be Social Work England registered
– Must have signifcant experience in safeguarding and looked after children
– Ability to chair complex meetings
– Strong quality assurance experience
