Independent Reviewing Officer – Hull – Children’s Team
Liquid Personnel is currently recruiting a IRO to join the busy team at a Hull based Children’s Team.
You will provide assessment, care management and social work services to children and their families, arising out of the council’s duties and powers under legislation, Council and Group policy.

Primary Responsibilities as an Independent Reviewing Officer:
- To chair and participating in, reviews of the cases of children looked after, conferences for children in need of protection, complex strategy meetings and allegations strategy meetings
- To ensure that the wishes and feelings of children looked after, and those in need of protection, are ascertained and given due consideration by the local authority
- To participate effectively and constructively challenging the local authority (and partners) on behalf of children where this is necessary to address practice issues
- Contributing to improvements in practice (by, for example, undertaking audits and observations of practice, facilitating training, undertaking stage 2 complaints) and contributing to other continuous learning and improvement activity consistent with the roles

You will promote and influence good quality social work and partner agency practice by building effective working relationships across the system and effectively challenging practice which needs to improve and Contributes to practice development by providing support and expert advice and through the development and provision of training.
What we are looking for in an Independent Reviewing Officer:
- Social Work England registration
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Hold a full UK license
- Post-qualified experience
- Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
