Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) – Slough

Liquid Personnel is currently recruiting for an Independent Reviewing Officer to join Slough’s Quality Assurance and Safeguarding Service.

The successful candidate will advocate and champion slough’s Children Looked After and ensure care planning promotes early permanence planning. You will need to be skilled in engaging and supporting the participation of children in the review and planning process.

Your main responsibilities as an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO):

  • To chair Looked After Children reviews and other complex meetings in accordance with government guidance and local procedures.
  • To ensure that children and young people participate appropriately in their meetings, and that their wishes and feelings are always fully considered and appropriately weighted, alongside the views of parents, carers and the input of multi-agency professionals.
  • To ensure that all children reviewed have an effective Care Plan, which clarifies the objectives to be met, by whom, within what timescales and the actions to be taken if they are not met.
  • To implement and monitor agreed quality standards, performance indicators and outcomes, as agreed with responsible managers, ensuring that these meet local and national targets.

What we are looking for in an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO):

  • Social Work England registration
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Hold a full UK licence
  • Post-qualified experience
  • Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
