Liquid Personnel is currently recruiting for a Learning Mentor to join a Youth Justice Education / Criminal Justice System Team based in Stockport.

Your main responsibilities as Learning Mentor:

• To support delivery of Youth Justice Education, Training & Employment targets by ensuring young people in contact with Criminal Justice System are in education, training or employment.
• To work together with members of the multi-agency Youth Justice Team, to promote learning and offer support to young people, aged 16+ into employment.
• To liaise with the custodial establishments and, where appropriate, participate in the young person’s resettlement plan.
• To make or contribute to assessments to assist in identifying young peoples’ learning style and suitable placements for them.
• To assist and support young people to secure and retain a place in education and employment, and to overcome barriers to learning. This will include practical support (e.g. accompanying them to appointments) and planning and delivery / contribution of interventions designed to equip them to achieve this, utilisation of an encouraging approach, a high level of contact with the young person and contact with other family members.
• To work with the appropriate agencies to address those welfare issues that impact on their ability to learn.
