Mental Health Coordinator – Band 3 and 4 – Coventry
Mental Health Triage – Coventry – £19 – £25 per hour
We currently have some exclusive and high paying roles for our client based in Coventry. We are looking for multiple Band 3 and 4 Mental Health Coordinators, who have previous experience within mental health, to join our clients Single Point of Access Team (SPA).
A key aspect of this model is the triage of new patients accessing the Single Point of Access Team. You will be joining a health triage function; and will work as part of a multi-professional team to provide:
- Timelier access to robust, safe, high quality and effective mental health assessments
- More effective and robust gatekeeping and early discharge functions
- Provide timelier and more quality feedback on referrals to referrers

Your duties as a Mental Health Coordinator in Coventry:
- Conduct a clinical triage for all referrals received to determine if the person has a mental illness or disorder and decide the type and urgency of the response required
- Support and provide advice to family and carers that call regarding a relative or person receiving care (personal information about a service user is not to be divulged to a third party without those persons consent unless there is evidence that the person is in crisis or poses a serious risk to themselves or others and the sharing of specific information would aid preventing harm)
- Ensure valid consent is obtained prior to undertaking care procedures
- Work as a member of the existing multi professional team
- Ensure a high standard of patient-centred care
- Promote self-management of health needs and adopt a positive risk-based care approach
- Ensure the privacy, dignity and safety of people is always maintained.
- Complete relevant forms of care, under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Identify any issues relating to safeguarding vulnerable children and adults and report any problems or raise concerns to the appropriate registered care professionals.
- Apply the principles of the Mental Capacity Act / Deprivation of Liberties to everyday practice seeking advice / guidance from the Registered Nurse or registered care professional as required.
Essential requirements of this Mental Health Coordinator role:
- Previous experience of working in a Mental Health practice setting
- Experience of working effectively to support people in distressed states including significant mental health needs.
- An understanding of the range of emotional and physical health needs of people with Mental Health difficulties
- The legal right to work in the UK
