Your main responsibilities as a Social Worker:

• This job role is required to enable the Local Authority to carry out its statutory duties to Children in Need under section 17 of the Children Act 1989 and those in Need of Protection under section 47 of the Children Act 1989.
• The role is one within front line delivery, where those employed carry out statutory functions to children and young people on behalf of the LA.
• This role is required to mitigate against organisational risk as it is in statute that Children in Need of Protection are required to have an allocated social worker.
• This role is required in order that the rest of team have manageable cases loads – without this caseloads would be high, the ability to achieve high quality practice would be impacted upon and children would not be safeguarding sufficiently.

What we are looking for in a Social Worker:

• Social Work England registration
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Hold a full UK licence
• Post-qualified experience
• Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
