Social Worker Adults – North London – Various Teams – £34,893 – £40,233

We are on the hunt for experienced Social Workers to join an adults localities team within a fast-paced local authority in North London. 

The successful candidate will be required to provide a social work service to people and their carers, ensuring that a strengths-based approach is used to empower them through every decision made towards their care, all whilst working in a person centred way and generating good working realtionships with service users and their families.

Duties

• To work in a strength- based way with adults and their families and carers, including those who are terminally ill.
• To work with multi – disciplinary colleagues, providing advice and information, working with community supports and liaison with other agencies, seeking the help of other professionals as necessary.  
• To have person centred conversations with people and carers in a timely way evaluating the level of risk and an evidence-based analysis of need whilst promoting independence in accordance with agreed criteria and divisional policies.
• Carry out placement reviews where there is a Safeguarding Enquiry into institutional abuse.
• To adhere to the Mental Capacity Act 2005, undertaking mental capacity assessments including complex assessments and where appropriate referring to an IMCA as per the Act.
• Carry out placement reviews where there is a Safeguarding Enquiry into institutional abuse.
• To assess for and provide equipment and minor adaptations to promote independence, and to monitor these as necessary, seeking advice where appropriate.

Requirements

• Social Work Degree or equivalent
• ASYE completed.
• A working knowledge of relevant legislation e.g., Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 etc, government guidance regarding safeguarding etc and including welfare benefits.
