HCPC Re-registration open for Social Workers
The three month renewal window for practicing Social Workers to update their HCPC registration is now open.
The Health and Care Professions Council registration renewal period opened on the 1st September 2016 and will run until Wednesday 30th.
November. The HCPC will write to all registered social workers on their database as a reminder and also with information on how to renew. Social Workers will have to complete a professional declaration and pay a fee in order to renew their registration and continue practicing.
There is a high possibility that this will be the last time Social Workers will have to re-register with the HCPC due to government plans to introduce a Social Work specific regulator, which were announced earlier this year.
2.5 % of registered Social Workers will also be selected during this period, for an audit of their continuing professional development portfolio.
If you are due to complete your renewal and in particular are selected for a CPD audit, Liquid Personnel are running training events throughout autumn 2016 that will be beneficial to you. These training events count towards 6 hours of Social Worker’s HCPC-mandated continuous professional development and will give all attendees the valuable experience and knowledge they need to open up future paths of progression.
If you are an agency social worker with Liquid Personnel and need advice or have any queries about HCPC re-registration, please contact your consultant and they will be able to offer you help on the process.
