Social Work Bursary Allocations Announced
Just weeks before courses start, the government has made a much-delayed announcement on this year’s social work bursary allocation
The bursary announcement from the Department of Health has confirmed that this year’s social work bursaries will be worth the same as last year. Funding will be available for 2nd and 3rd year undergraduate students and will be provided for 1,500 postgraduate students starting their courses this year.
Universities will be allocated a number of bursary places, and will have to provide a list of the named students who will be receiving the bursary.
If you have any questions about the bursary process, then you can visit the official social work bursaries Facebook group here where a daily Q&A is provided.
The bursary allocation was originally meant to be announced in June, and the Department of Health has faced heavy criticism over the delay in announcement, which has caused uncertainty for students.
