Social Workers Begin 100 Mile March
A seven day march from Birmingham to Liverpool has been launched, protesting against the UK government’s austerity
The British Association of Social Workers (BASW) has organised a 100 mile march from Birmingham to Liverpool, which started on 19th April. The march will take place over seven days, ending on 26th April, and will see members of BASW, along with those who use social services, visit food banks and social care settings which are under threat from funding cuts. Social workers, carers, service users and more will join members of BASW, hearing from those whose lives have been affected by the current difficult economic situation.
