Wigan Council is in search of a compassionate and skilled Advanced Practitioner to join their dedicated team. As an Advanced Practitioner, you will use your social work expertise to manage complex cases, mentor fellow social workers, and uphold the highest standards of practice. Your commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children will drive your work every day.

Experience and Responsibilities for this role include:

• You will be managing support workers and or social workers
• Deputizing for Team Manager in their absence
• Supporting and mentoring other social workers
• Experience of working within a busy and fast paced fostering team
• Knowledge and experience of LADO and OFSTED procedures and notifications
• Knowledge and experience of LA Stability panels
• Supporting a small caseload of more complex foster carers, children and young people.
• Having sound knowledge of times in which support needs to be increased
• Providing fostering families with support guidance and advice
• Completing annual reviews and all associated paperwork within timescale
• Duty rota, being included within the management duty rota – office based, one week at a time
• Knowledge and experience of Safeguarding
• Some experience of quality assurance

What we are looking for in a Qualified Social Worker:

• Social Work England registration
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Hold a full UK license
• Post-qualified experience
• Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
