Qualified Social Worker – Powys – Children with Disabilities – £37.00 per hour
We are seeking a qualified social worker to join the Children’s Integrated Disability Service (IDS) in North Powys. As part of a dedicated team of social workers and Wellbeing workers, you will closely collaborate with health, education, and other organizations to assess and support children with significant disabilities or health diagnoses. This role combines office-based and remote work.
About You:
- Highly Desirable: Experience working with carers and children with disabilities or health diagnoses.
- Team player with the ability to think on your feet, innovate, and provide support to the team.
- Person-centered skills, demonstrating compassion, active listening, and empathic approaches.
- Registration with Social Care Wales.
- Highly Desirable: Experience with direct payments and developing care packages for children.
- Highly Desirable: Familiarity with the Signs of Safety approach.
What You Will Do:
- Undertake a variety of social work practices, including new assessments, Care & Support, Child Protection, looked after children, and some court work/adoption proceedings.
- Hold Care and Support cases and potentially conduct initial assessments.
- Manage a manageable caseload within an experienced, friendly, and supportive team.
- Support children with disabilities or health diagnoses to lead happy, stable, and fulfilling lives, addressing a range of conditions and challenges.
- Conduct carers assessments as part of the social work role.
What we are looking for in a Qualified Social Worker:
- Social Work England registration
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Hold a full UK license
- Post-qualified experience
- Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
