Qualified Social Worker – Wirral – Social Worker in Schools – £35.00 per hour

Liquid Personnel is currently recruiting experienced Qualified Social Workers in schools to join a busy team at a Wirral based School. To work in this role, you must have Social Work England registration, be eligible to work in the UK, hold a qualification in Social Work at degree level, and have post-qualified experience.

Primary Responsibilities as a SWIS Social Worker:  

As a SWIS Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in fostering a supportive and inclusive school environment. Your responsibilities will include:

Assessment and Intervention:

    • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify and address the social, emotional, and behavioural needs of students.
    • Develop and implement effective intervention plans tailored to individual student requirements.

Counselling:

    • Provide individual and group counselling to students, addressing various challenges such as behavioural issues, academic struggles, and social conflicts.

Collaboration with School Staff:

    • Work closely with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to create and implement strategies for a positive and inclusive school culture.
    • Collaborate on proactive measures to prevent and address behavioral issues.

Family Engagement:

    • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with families to address the social and emotional needs of students.
    • Provide support and resources to families to enhance their ability to support their children.

Crisis Intervention:

    • Respond promptly and effectively to crisis situations within the school community.
    • Collaborate with professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of students during critical incidents.

Advocacy:

    • Advocate for the needs of students within the school system and liaise with external agencies or services as required.

Data Collection and Reporting:

    • Utilize SWIS and other data systems to collect, analyze, and report on student behavior trends.
    • Prepare reports that communicate the effectiveness of interventions and suggest improvements.

Professional Development:

    • Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in social work, education, and related fields.
    • Engage in continuous professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Community Resources:

    • Connect students and families with relevant community resources and services for additional support.

Prevention Programs:

  • Develop and implement prevention programs to address common issues affecting students within the school environment

What we are looking for in a SWIS: 

  • Social Work England registration
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Hold a full UK license
  • Post-qualified experience
  • Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
