The London Borough of Bromley, Adult Social Care Services are looking for two Senior Social Workers to join our friendly and hard-working team on a short term basis. The role is in the Orpington Locality which deals with a broad range of Adult Social Care referrals. All care management and safeguarding tasks are undertaken as per the statutory duties for a local authority underpinned by the Adult Social Care legislation. We are looking for a suitably qualified, professionally registered person, experienced in supervising and managing staff. You need experience of performance management and the ability and experience of supporting staff through complex and challenging casework. You must have the ability and experience to maintain healthy relationships with partner agencies, particularly health, voluntary sector, and commissioned services.

MAIN PURPOSE:

• To promote and maintain independence for vulnerable adults in line with the wellbeing principles  set out in  the Care Act 2014 and the Health and Social Care Act 2022.
• To support carers to continue in their role
• To protect adults at risk by robust assessments and the use of safeguarding procedures with an emphasis on making safeguarding personal.
• To assess the needs of Adults and their Carers in line with LB Bromley procedures based on the Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislation
• With the Adult and Carer, formulate and implement personal budgets and support plans
• Monitor, review and evaluate support plans including direct payments in order to ensure that they are consistent with eligible need.
• Provide supervision, support and advice to other team members and deputise for the Team Leader.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Assist and participate in the management of the Duty service and act as Duty Senior.
• Undertake the safeguarding adult manager role and role of enquiry officer as defined in the Pan London Safeguarding Procedures.
• Undertake strength-based assessments for adults and their carers. Offer support and advice as appropriate to Adults and their Carers
• Initiate and co-ordinate support plans for and with Adults and their Carers, in conjunction with professional colleagues and representatives of voluntary and private agencies.
• As necessary, ensure that work is allocated, transferred or concluded, in accordance with procedures.
• Develop and support self and staff learning.
• Monitor and review the needs and support plans of adults and their carers.
• Maintain client records in accordance with Council policy and professional standards.
• Respond to and where possible resolve complaints in line with the Council’s complaints procedure.
• Work across different teams within the Division as and when needed.
• Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the post, as required to ensure the efficient and effective running of the Department / Section.

What we are looking for in a Social Worker:  

• Social Work England registration 
• Eligible to work in the UK 
• Hold a full UK license 
• Post-qualified experience 
• Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
