Social Worker – Family Support & Intervention – North Wales coast

As a temporary experienced Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in delivering a high-quality social work service to children and their families. You’ll work alongside the Assessment and Support team in our Children, Families, and Safeguarding Service. Your primary focus will be on supporting families with unmet needs and those considered to be at risk of harm or significant harm. By providing support and promoting resilience and independence, you’ll ensure that children and their families remain at the center of decision-making while prioritizing their safety.

Duties and Responsibilities – Job Specific:

  • Provide direct social work services to children and families identified as in need of care and support.
  • Adhere to statutory requirements, national and regional policies, and guidelines.
  • Use an outcome-focused approach to identify appropriate service responses at different levels.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in other Social Service sections, private and voluntary sectors, as well as Health and Emergency services to deliver an integrated response.
  • Build effective relationships with children, families, and carer’s to identify and meet their needs while safeguarding individual rights.
  • Ensure timely assessment and review processes.
  • Facilitate citizen participation in assessment, care planning, and review.
  • Respond to safeguarding concerns following the All Wales Child Protection Procedures.
  • Conduct safeguarding investigations and complete risk assessments.
  • Contribute to the preparation and presentation of reports and plans during Strategy meetings, reviews, and Child Protection Case Conferences.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • Social Work Qualified with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience.
  • Proficiency in technology and software skills.
  • Registered with Social Care Wales (or willingness to register).
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
