Team Manager– Children with Care Team – South Gloucestershire – £41 per hour

Liquid Personnel is currently recruiting experienced Team Manager to join a busy team at a South Gloucestershire based within the Children in Care team. To be successful in this role you must have Social Work England registration, be eligible to work in the UK, hold a qualification in Social Work at degree level, and have post-qualified experience.

Primary Responsibilities as a Children in Care Team Manager:  

  • Previous direct experience within CiC and UASC is essential
  • You will be required to be visible to team member and work from the council offices where deemed appropriate, therefore please ensure candidates are aware of this prior to submission
  • You will require a driving license and suitable vehicle insured for business purposes.
  • About the role
  • Under the direction of the Service Manager, the post holder will lead and manage a team that will provide social care services in Assess and Response, Social Care Long Term or Corporate Parenting (Transition to Independence, Looked After Children or Fostering and Adoption)
  • This could include one or more of the following specialist areas/services:
  • Ensuring vulnerable (including looked after) children and young people are identified, protected and supported to achieve positive outcomes through the provision of well planned, integrated and coordinated services.
  • The post holder will lead, manage and oversee the work of the team to ensure that vulnerable children are protected from significant harm, to work with children where there is risk of family breakdown, as well as working with children in care
  • The post holder will also provide continuity of cover for other Team Leaders in their absence, and provide support and guidance to Senior Social Workers who may be deputizing for Team Leaders
  • Working in a multi-agency context, the post holder will promote effective partnerships with those providing preventative and/or specialist services in the public, private, community and voluntary sectors, as well as with children young people and their families, foster carers and adopters to achieve the best possible outcomes
  • This role is critical in terms of protecting children and young people on behalf of the Council or in providing good quality, safe placements for children and young people and promoting placement stability. The role requires the on-going development of social work practice and a significant degree of forward planning, as well as managing immediate day to day issues and prioritization of those issues that require an immediate response
  • The role will contribute to the strategic planning process by contributing professional expertise and experience. This may include providing persuasive arguments, written reports and verbal presentations
  • You will hold a professional qualification to at least degree level or equivalent and a relevant management qualification with substantial management experience and where required an additional specialist professional qualification
  • You will demonstrate specialist up to date knowledge of the service area and relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice including equalities and research and trends in social care policy
  • You will have excellent leadership skills
  • You will be able to lead and effectively communicate, negotiate with and influence colleagues and partners
  • You will have experience of managing complex projects, programme and activities
  • You will be able to plan and manage service and departmental budgets
  • You will have a good level of general IT skills and the ability to use, or be trained in the use of, appropriate specialist in-house software packages
