Team Manager – Children’s Social Care – Devon

As part of our commitment to restorative practices, we seek a proficient Team Manager who will enhance our support framework for young minds in Exeter. Our Team Managers play a pivotal role in delivering exemplary social care services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Restorative Practice Approach:
    • Embed the new restorative practice approach across teams.
    • Invest in training practitioners and managers to build, maintain, and repair relationships with children and families.
  2. Leadership and Supervision:
    • Provide professional supervision and appraisal for the team.
    • Develop a service development plan for the Academy with clear objectives, milestones, and priorities.
    • Facilitate effective communication within the team to disseminate national, statutory, and departmental initiatives.
  3. Practice Leadership:
    • Cultivate a culture of professional curiosity within the team.
    • Ensure that team practice aligns with relevant organizational standards and legal requirements.
    • Prioritize continuous professional development for both self and team members.
  4. Day-to-Day Operations:
    • Allocate and monitor workloads.
    • Address service delivery issues within the team.
    • Plan, evaluate, and review case work appropriately.
    • Achieve expected performance standards.
    • Conduct audits and improve performance based on findings.
  5. Workforce Development and Quality Assurance:
    • Manage and deliver professional development schemes and learning programs.
    • Forecast staffing trends and plan for succession.
    • Provide quality assurance for the workforce development plan.
    • Analyze evidence-based data to drive continuous improvement.
  6. Partnerships and Collaboration:
    • Develop partnerships with educational and research organizations.
    • Promote meaningful participation of individuals, families, and carers.
    • Contribute to service improvement and external assessments.
  7. General Responsibilities:
    • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, guidelines, and social care policies.
    • Collaborate with colleagues and partners to enhance practice and workforce competence.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experienced as a Team Manager in Safeguarding and court work.
  • Hold a recognised social work qualification (e.g. BA/ MA Social Work, DipSW, CQSW),
  • Registration with the relevant regulatory body
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills.
  • Commitment to being on-site, for at least three days per week.
