Liquid social worker crowned Coronation Champion

Congratulations to Liquid social worker and volunteering hero Alnaz Gulamhussein! At an exciting point in history, she has been awarded Coronation Champion for her outstanding contribution to her local Ismaili Muslim community.

With the support of Her Majesty The Queen Consort, a passionate advocate of volunteering and President of Royal Voluntary Service, the Coronation Champions Awards were launched to recognise exceptional volunteers, and invited people across the UK to nominate those who are going the extra mile. Alnaz was among 500 volunteers selected from over 5000 entries to receive the award and impressed the judges with her unwavering commitment.

Her accomplishments include enrolling individuals into adult education programmes, sign-posting parents of newborns to groups, and assisting adults with disabilities in accessing support. She also impressed the judges with her passion for valuing diversity and always respecting and considering people’s differences. Not to mention, she volunteered at her local vaccination centre during the height of the pandemic! Is there anything she can’t do?

In recognition of her extraordinary efforts, Alnaz was invited to attend the official Coronation Garden Party, which took place on the 3rd of May 2023 at Buckingham Palace. And what a glorious day it was! As well as tucking into some delicious tea and cake (surely you can’t get any better), she got the chance to mingle with esteemed guests, her fellow Coronation Champions, and collected her specially designed Coronation Champion pin and signed certificate by Their Majesties.

Speaking about the special day, Alnaz said: “It’s an honour and a privilege to be named a Coronation Champion. The Garden Party at Buckingham Palace was a unique opportunity and definitely an enjoyable lifetime memory. The audience was 8000 in total, with diplomats from across the world and the Coronation Champions from the UK.”

She also added: “It is deeply satisfying that small tasks can make a huge difference to the lives of many”.

We really couldn’t be prouder to work with such an inspiring, dedicated, and compassionate individual who goes above and beyond to improve the lives of so many people. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. And congratulations on your well-deserved win!
